Cervical Screening

Every year in the UK, around 3,000 women will be diagnosed with cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is the most common cancer in women aged 35 and under.

Across the whole of the UK women are invited for cervical screening (smear test) between the ages of 25 and 64. Women aged 25–49 are invited every three years and women aged 50–64 are invited every five years.

If you are aged between 25 and 64 you will receive a telephone call/text message/letter from the reception team to remind you book in for a smear test with the Practice Nurse.

Smear tests are so important in the prevention of cervical cancer so we urge you to make every effort to attend.
